Why Sailing is the Best Way to Explore Croatia

Croatia is the top destination in the world for a Sailing Holiday, find out why!

We can all agree that staying in an all-inclusive hotel is not conducive to getting to know the area you go to. By very definition, everything is supplied, so there is little impetus for holidayers to leave the boundaries of the hotel.

Traveling around on a tight itinerary, a whistle-stop tour, one day here, two days there, packing and unpacking everyday can be quite exhausting.

If only there was a way of traveling around where the journey is an enjoyable part of the experience…

Embark on your Private Yacht and set Sail around the stunning island of Croatia!

There are two sides to Croatia: the mainland and the islands. Both have great things to do and see and you should spend time on each. Spend a couple of days on the mainland after you arrive, but don’t overlook the islands. You will need a week or two sailing around the islands to see them properly. Then when you are back on land again you can have another couple of days visiting another area before you return home.

It's safe, it's affordable and it's beautiful - Sailing Holiday in Croatia!

The number of islands that Croatia has is more than a thousand. Untouched nature and crystal clear water, stunning bays to drop an anchor and hide from the world. All of this is what Sailing in Croatia Holiday offers.

The pristine and relatively untouched paradise. Throughout history, during periods of invasion, many of the citizens fled to the Adriatic islands. Life here is full of tradition and culture where you will see a different side to life on the mainland. Unlike much of the rest of the Mediterranean, the islands of Croatia are relatively untouched and pristine. Big hotel chains and overdevelopment have been held at bay. Only the biggest of the islands are connected by ferry services so if you want the freedom to enjoy and explore this water world then you need to travel by yacht.

Miss the islands and you miss the point. So to come to Croatia but not visit the islands is a mistake. You will be missing an important and intensely beautiful part of the country out. A trip to the islands should be central to making sure your visit to Croatia is the best experience possible.

What type of boat to choose for our sailing holiday in Croatia?

Monohull sailboats give you performance, freedom and the true feeling of sailing. There are thousands of bareboat sailboats in Croatia, ranging from 30 to 60 feet and from 2-6 cabins. If you want the enjoyment of pure sailing, we'd generally recommend a monohull sailboat.

Catamarans  in Croatia deliver great comfort and privacy, while providing a lot of communal areas to better enjoy your group (extra space for everyone). Catamarans don't heel ("tip") like a monohull, providing for a more stable feeling on the boat. For a Family Sailing Holiday in Croatia we definitely recommend a catamaran as a better choice.
